Epping Forest Greens support Epping Supporters of the Women and Children of Calais
Yesterday, Tuesday 25th August, members of Epping Forest Green Party joined Epping Supporters of the Women and Children of Calais collecting and boxing supplied for refugees and asylum seekers currently held in appalling conditions at ‘The Jungle’, a makeshift camp in Calais.
Dave Plummer, Epping Forest Green Party coordinator, said,
‘It was an honour to be able to help out, and a real joy to see the people of Epping Forest coming together to help people in such a terrible situation. Amanda, Helen, Nina and everybody else who’s come together to be part of Epping Supporters of the Women and Children of Calais should be congratulated.
‘They’ve shown that Epping Forest can see beyond the rhetoric of tabloid newspapers and, disgracefully, many elected politicians, and will pull together when people need help.’
